The other day, out of curiosity, I googled around to find what historical Masonic leaders had to say about Native Americans.
Or as one church site said:
“A historical report was then given of the continual breaking of treaties and promises as an operational mode of the establishment of the United States by the non-first nations cultures that immigrated to this land. The systematic genocide of the Native People's under Masonic expansionist manifest destiny, a philosophy derived from the Crusades mentality, was openly exposed.”
Here is what some of the Masonic leaders had to say about us:
George Washington, Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4, Fredericksburg, Virginia; Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22
Indians were defined as subhumans, lower than animals. George Washington compared them to wolves, “beasts of prey” and called for their total destruction. George Washington's troops skinned Native Americans like animals. Apparently his first agenda item as President was the exermination of the Native Americans.
President James Monroe: Williamsburg Lodge No. 6, Williamsburg, Virginia
During Monroe's administration, the United States acquired Florida from Spain, and U.S. troops fought against the Seminole Native Americans there.
Andrew Jackson: Harmony Lodge No. 1, Nashville, Tennessee; Grand Master 1822-23, Tennessee
Andrew Jackson — in 1814: “supervised the mutilation of 800 or more Creek Indian corpses — the bodies of men, women and children that [his troops] had massacred — cutting off their noses to count and preserve a record of the dead, slicing long strips of flesh from their bodies to tan and turn into bridle reins.” Jackson was also responsible for the Indian Removal Act and the Trail of Tears.
In 1867, General William Tecumseh Sherman, a Mason, said: “We must act with vindictive earnestness against the [Lakotas, known to whites as the Sioux] even to their extermination, men, women and children.”
In 1891, Frank L. Baum (author of “The Wizard Of Oz” and Mason) wrote in the Aberdeen Saturday Pioneer (Kansas) that the army should “finish the job” by the “total annihilation” of the few remaining Indians.
I’m not interested in doing much more research into this topic right now.
I think these statements speak for themselves.
Are the Masons are responsible for the genocide of Native Americans?
Or did any of them try to stop it?
Apparently not.

The Taking by Sandy Frost
This poem, "The Taking," was written in response to reading the depositions of five Brazilian Indian girls who told their Federal Police about how a North American named "Richard" tricked them to come "clean and cook" on his fishing boat. When they got there, the underage girls found they were to get drunk and have sex with North American tourists. One girl was left pregnant after one such trip, at age 13. It has not yet been determined if these were members of the Shriners' secret sub-group, the Royal Order of Jesters, though court depositions from fishing guides testified that the Jesters asked to be called "Masons" and for girls over 13. This news report indicates that FBI agents have travelled to Brazil and interviewed the girl who was left pregnant.

River eels scream
Jungle Daughters cry
Flows of shame
From each eye.
River Teardrops
Cultural pollution
Hypocrites all
No, no solution.
Futures stolen
Girl mothers show
No more school
No more hope.
Whispering winds
Signal shifts
Freely now
Share our gifts.

9/11 Poem
This is dedicated to all who have passed on this day as well as those left behind who suffer. I also commemorate the 1 year anniversary of the tragic death of my sister-in-law, "T." She, like everyone else who left on this day, leave behind those of us who must learn the lessons of Peace, Love and Hope before we have no where else to go.
Who would Jesus bomb
On this 9/11 day?
Who would Mohammad bomb
As we all begin to pray?
Who would the Buddha bomb
With fear and guilt and pain?
Who would Krishna bomb
And let devastation reign?
Who would Gandhi bomb
The children and the old?
Who would ML King bomb
And kill for power and gold?
Who would Lennon bomb
And pollute the earth for all?
Who would you bomb
And wait for heaven’s call?
Who would Jesus bomb
On this 9/11 day?
Who would Mohammad bomb
As we all begin to pray?
Who would the Buddha bomb
With fear and guilt and pain?
Who would Krishna bomb
And let devastation reign?
Who would Gandhi bomb
The children and the old?
Who would ML King bomb
And kill for power and gold?
Who would Lennon bomb
And pollute the earth for all?

International Human Rights Day
Today is International Human Rights Day.
Here is a video that spells out The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Here are some words from the Dalai Lama’s address to the World Conference on Human Rights held in Vienna, Austria on 15 June, 1993.

"No matter what country or continent we come from we are all basically the same human beings. We have the same common human needs and concerns. We all seek happiness and try to avoid suffering regardless of our race, religion, sex or political status.
As free human beings we can use our unique intelligence to try to understand ourselves and our world. It is very often the most gifted, dedicated and creative members of our society who become victims of human rights abuses. Thus the political, social, cultural and economic developments of a society are obstructed by the violations of human rights. Therefore, the protection of these rights and freedoms are of immense importance both for the individuals affected and for the development of the society as a whole.
Some people think that causing pain to others may lead to their own happiness or that their own happiness is of such importance that the pain of others is of no significance. But this is clearly shortsighted.
No one truly benefits from causing harm to another being. Whatever immediate advantage is gained at the expense of someone else is short-lived. In the long run causing others misery and infringing upon their peace and happiness creates anxiety, fear and suspicion for oneself.
The key to creating a better and more peaceful world is the development of love and compassion for others. This naturally means we must develop concern for our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate than we are.
There is a growing awareness of peoples' responsibilities to each other and to the planet we share. This is encouraging even though so much suffering continues to be inflicted based on chauvinism, race, religion, ideology and history.
A new hope is emerging for the downtrodden, and people everywhere are displaying a willingness to champion and defend the rights and freedoms of their fellow human beings.
The most secure foundation for a new world order is not simply broader political and economic alliances, but each individual's genuine practice of love and compassion.
These qualities are the ultimate source of human happiness, and our need for them lies at the very core of our being. The practice of compassion is not idealistic, but the most effective way to pursue the best interests of others as well as our own. The more we become interdependent the more it is in our own interest to ensure the well-being of others.
I strongly believe that individuals can make a difference in society. Every individual has responsibility to help move our global family in the right direction and we must each assume that responsibility."
Be good to each other, not just today but everyday.
Thank you for being here,
Sandy

New Dance and Interview Policy
I’ve created a new dance to go with my new book Shriners’ Shame: The Dark Side of “The World’s Greatest Philanthropy.”
I wrote in the introduction:
“Hey, tax dudes?
Is funding corporate revenge a proper use of charitable donations?
I didn’t think so.
And make sure to find out about all those 'excess benefit transactions' that weren’t reported on the corporate and personal tax returns of those who enjoyed them.
I’m sure that you have some forensic eager beaver who’d love to take credit for discovering how your tax-exempt system has been manipulated in ways never before imagined.
What a hardcore hustle."
Then there’s the editorial "Shriners Hustle Justin Timberlake, the PGA Tour and NASCAR's David Ragan?"
So, let this exclusive men's club show you how to “The Shriner Hustle.”
Here is my interview policy:
I will not discuss any of the following because they are off-topic and counter productive:
• Masonic conspiracy
• Evils of Masonry
• Ritual sex abuse
• Masons as Satan
These urban legends and conspiratorial fantasies have no relationship to non profit transparency, disclosure and accountability or the mission of helping the Shriners become compliant with exempt organization rules and regulations so they can return to the business of helping the kids.
Interviews that swerve toward these misdirections will end abruptly.
I'm confident that the Grand Masters of all the Masonic Grand Lodges in all 50 states will take the appropriate actions when it comes to what is described in my new book.
Like I say, "Oversight by law enforcement is no way to run a non profit organization."
Thank you,
Sandy Frost

Let Michael Jackson Sing "They Don't Really Care About Us!"
I’ve not been doing much lately.
I’ve certainly not been working and this is the first time I’ve sat down here for about two weeks.
Or maybe three.
On the 9th, I went to visit Marilyn in the hospital and found out about her advanced lung cancer that ate through her spine.
Then we had the wedding that weekend.
That Thursday, I went out to help my sister Elizabeth take care of Marilyn until she died last Monday.
Last Christmas, Marilyn was snowed in and needed supplies so we went up, delivered all sorts of goodies and I got to spend the day with her.
We’ve discussed my Shriners investigation since the beginning and on that day in particular, I described the court cases against members of the Shriners secret sub-group, the Royal Order of Jesters, and their involvement with prostitution, human trafficking, sex slavery and child sex tourism.
Marilyn just flipped out.
She married my dad, Jack Frost, after he divorced my Mom. He picked me and my younger sister up for weekend visits and I remember following Marilyn around like a lost little puppy.
We’d talk about everything as she taught me to cook and sew and to love the garden and about spirituality and thus we did so for nearly 50 years.
Marilyn told me that Dad, who passed away years ago, was proud to be a Mason and that he thought that they were a great group of guys and that he’d be shocked to know what I was finding out.
Well, that and she had gone back to the University of Washington to get her Masters in Special Education and went on to become director of a facility where parents could bring their severely handicapped and disabled babies and toddlers for recreation, play and music.
Marilyn’s life was dedicated to helping kids, so she was way beyond horrified to learn that about how some Shriner leaders seem to hide behind the burned and crippled children to abuse their positions of public trust for private gain.
I told her about the fishing tour operator defamation lawsuit and what was contained in the witness list for the defense as well as the depositions from five Brazilian Indian girls about how they were recruited into prositution as well as two fishing guides who testified about what they saw during these Masonic fishing trips.
She went ballistic but also helped me process my own abuse-related stuff so I could stay focused on the issues at hand instead of becoming a slave to my own emotional meltdowns.
Reading those depositions hit me really hard and someday I hope to write an article to help other journalists cover misogynistic sex crimes so they don’t sound like sex perverts or end up in therapy.
It’s tough enough to write about subjects that other media have shunned because their ratings will go down. Who wants to watch about pedophilia and child sex tourism when they can be otherwise brainless and entertained?
When we were alone in her hospital room after she’d been diagnosed, Marilyn took my face in her hands, looked into my eyes and told me “Sandra, don’t you ever stop what you’re doing. Don’t you ever stop.”
I knew I’d have quiet time as I stayed with her, so I took the depositions in the Schair v Marsteller defamation case. I spent quiet nights reading and highlighting legal documents that describe both sides of a Brazilian federal police investigation “that since the year 2000, minor Indian and other girls living near the rivers in the region of the Municipality of Autazes/AM became victims of sexual exploitation by North American tourists.”
My next step is to take what I highlighted and put together a PowerPoint that will be broadcast on YouTube.
The world needs to learn about the testimony of those fishing guides and Indian girls so that Brazilian and U.S. authorities will diligently and thoroughly investigate those allegedly involved with operating and/or participating in a prostitution network that included child sex tourism.
So, the past few days I’ve been watching news coverage of the Michael Jackson (MJ) death. I hope ratings are up because as far as I can tell, coverage has an even blend of King of Pop v pedophile scandal. MSNBC has been playing past news shows that were produced to provide more information during certain Michael Jackson events and they are pretty good.
I’ve been a commercial surfer since ever since and surfed over to VH1 Classic to watch the 24/7 MJ videos.
I will always remember Michael Jackson doing “Billie Jean” on “Motown 25.”
I knew I was watching history.
“Billie Jean” is by far the best dance song of all time.
The thing that MJ did the best was get people up dancing which is good for everybody!
It’s such a universal way of communicating and sharing.
And this performance is Michael Jackson’s best.
One of the things I watched lately is a Michael Jackson video from “HiStory.”
It’s called “They Don’t Really Care About Us.”
It was filmed in Brazil and Michael Jackson is singing about those who are repressed, abused and victimized in a universal kind of way, including himself.
The way those Brazilians drum and dance about their condition is a great way to tell this story.
Especially the kids.
I saw this and watched it on YouTube and the lights went off like Fourth of July in Seattle.
I did some very important work while I was with Marilyn before she passed away and realized quite a few things.
The testimony from the five Jane Does and the two fishing tour guides points to a very serious problem, so serious that as the evidence seemed to build up against him, Schair settled out of court.
A new deposition provided to the Brazilian Federal Police by another girl alleges pedophilia after being lured onto the same fishing boat described by the other girls.
So now, a few things need to happen here.
I don’t have any control or influence in Brazil and depend on the honorable efforts and intentions of those authorities currently investigating allegations of and are pursuing the indictment of the North American who may be charged with operating a prostitution network and facilitating child sex tourism.
But I can sure raise some hell here.
First, the laws of the land must be enforced.
If there is evidence, and it appears that there is enough for Brazil to indict, it must be investigated for the crimes of sex tourism and child sex tourism.
FYI, from Wikipedia:
“Child sex tourism (CST) is a travel to a foreign country for the purpose of engaging in commercial sexual abuse of children.[1] As a form of sexual exploitation of children, child sex tourism results in both mental and physical consequences for the exploited children, that may include "disease (including HIV/AIDS), drug addiction, pregnancy, malnutrition, social ostracism, and possibly death", according to the State Department of the United States.[1]”
Associated penalties are quite stiff.
United States citizens or residents who engage in sexual activity abroad with a child under 18 and/or those who organize such trips can face 30 years in a U.S. prison and life in prison for two-time offenders.
And there is no statute of limitations.
Specifically, from the Department of Justice:
“Those who profit from victimizing children and adults in the sex trade are only one half of the problem. The other half are those who patronize this exploitive industry. Federal statutes hold those who travel to do so, and those who benefit from arranging that travel, accountable. For example, 18 U.S.C. § 2423(b) prohibits traveling across state lines or into the United States for the purpose of engaging in any illicit sexual conduct (which includes any commercial sex act with a person under 18) and carries a 30 year maximum sentence, while 18 U.S.C. § 2423(c) prohibits an American citizen or national engaging in illicit sexual conduct outside the United States and carries a 30 year maximum sentence. 18 U.S.C. § 2423(c) does not require that the citizen have traveled outside the country with the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct in a foreign country. 18 U.S.C. § 2423(d) prohibits arranging or facilitating, for financial gain, another person's travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct and carries a 30 year maximum sentence.”
NGOs must band together to further educate the public about these horrific crimes and call for investigation into child sex tourism and pedophilia starting with the North American side of the Peacock Bass Fishing tour industry that operates in Brazil.
Members of the Shriners secret sub-group, the Royal Order of Jesters, are being investigated for child sex tourism, so linking them to their 19 brothers who hired Schiar to go fishing in Brazil seems quite natural.
One of Schair’s Peacock Bass fishing tour operator buddies was recently arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for kiddie porn and the sexual exploitation of children, newscast here.
I'm sure you get the idea.
After Marilyn’s funeral, I’m going to get that PowerPoint presentation up on YouTube as well as finish an editorial about why these seemingly related things must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I vote for the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and the State Department Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons.
In summary, the Royal Order of Jesters investigation out of Buffalo now includes child sex tourism.
The Schair v Marsteller defamation lawsuit listed 19 high-profile Jesters on a witness list for the defense. Included in the court documents were also depositions from two Brazilian fishing guides who allegedly witnessed these “Masons” having sex with underage girls while on one of Schair’s fishing trips.
The Brazilian federal police have been investigating the sexual exploitation of minor and other Indian girls by North Americans and took depositions from five Jane Does who alleged that a North American, “Richard,” illegally entered their reservations and lured them into prostitution with North American tourists.
Another Peacock Bass fishing tour operator, Scott Swanson, with probable business connections to Schair, was recently arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in a “sexting” case out of Pennsylvania and was charged with “criminal solicitation and corruption of minors for making internet contact of a sexual nature with a 14 year-old Tunkhannock area middle school student.”
Another deposition has been provided to the Brazilian Federal Police by a thirteen year old, similar to the other Jane Does, except she alleges pedophilia.
There are too many coincidences here.
Too many people alleging the same things.
Too many authorities investigating the same things.
Michael Jackson paid his lawyers big bucks to settle pedophilia lawsuits out of court to avoid being ruined by such prosecutions.
Let’s hope that this is not the case.
It’s my job to give voice to the voiceless, including those Brazilian Indian girls who are forever scarred, forced to live unlivable lives.
Like Michael sings:
“Some things in life they just don't wanna see
But if Martin Luther was livin'
He wouldn't let this be.
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us.”
Uh, yeah.
We do.
Sandy

They don't really care about us.”
Uh, yeah.
We do.

Fav Movies
I gave birth in a hospital where Carlo Gambino’s son-in-law was chief of staff. No cameras or recording devices, even in maternity. I asked my gyn what it like to work w/them. He said that you know that they fix horse races and worse. Nothing more. At least Don Corleone never messed around on his wife and even danced in public with her.
Woodward and Bernstein helped shape my early journalism. My first SPJ award was for an interview I did with John Dean while I was editor in college. My second was for first place for our newspaper while I was Editor-in-Chief. I always wanted to find my own Watergate. I guess I did, and then some. And God bless Robert Redford.
During college I read “Gulag Archipelago ” by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and went to take the ASVAB at the Navy recruiter’s. “You can do anything but be a nuke,” he said. So I signed up for Advanced Electronics. Flew from Spokane to Orlando for boot camp. Then on to Great Lakes Naval Training Center where I completed “A” school. Had to teach myself trig and nearly washed out over servos and synchros because of this little right-left dyslexia thing. I learned early to make a “L” with my left hand otherwise who knows which way I’ll go. Then I completed KW-7 school at Ft. Gordon, GA. The Navy barracks were co-ed. My first duty station was COMOCEANSYSLANT in Norfolk, VA. I maintained a wall of crypto gear that unscrambled messages as they shot around the Atlantic from the NAVFACs to us. Well, that and Sean Connery.
I first saw “Rocky Horror” while at KW-7 school. He threw off his cape and that was it. Thank God for Ru Paul.
Now you know.
Thanks for being here,

Did Elizabeth Hanson "Misappropriate" My Inheritance?
Photo credit: Seattle Campaign for LibertyThis is a picture of my half-sister, Elizabeth Hanson . Note on the linked page her interest in "Spirituality." She teaches English as a Second Language at Shoreline Community College in Seattle, Washington and makes over $61K a year.
After the death of my step-Mom, Marilyn Frost, she, along with my half-brother, Robert Frost, quickly sold the family home for $267,000. It was assessed at $378,000 with comparable sales of over $400,000.
There was no probate after this, though we have the same father.
It looks like, it appears that, they took the money and ran with no regard to the fact that we, my sister and me, have the same father as Elizabeth and Robert.
Prior to Dad dying in 1999, he told me he left me something in his will; that I'd get an inheritance after the house was sold and Marilyn's estate was settled.
I've since been told that Dad left no will.
How convenient.
Marilyn's will leaves nothing to my sister and me though it appears that Marilyn may not have actually written her will. It spells my sister's name wrong. It's spelled the same way it was spelled in Marilyn's memorial program, proving that someone other than Marilyn wrote the will because she'd never misspell my sister's name.
And though Marilyn signed it, she was very sick with cancer at the time and may not have read it. If she had read it, she'd have corrected the misspelling of my sister's first name.
Not only did Elizabeth and Robert allegedly deprive my sister and me of our inheritance, they did the same to their niece, nephews and grand niece.
It appears that someone engineered a plan to make sure they got everything.
Instead of being there to help family, did Elizabeth and Robert deprive family?
Is the right example to set for her son, Christopher, that "greed is good"?
Is it right to hide behind the legal system and use it as an excuse to intentionally ignore and dishonor the long held rights of blood beneficiaries?
Elizabeth was given a faculty excellence award last Fall. I'm sure she played the martyr by letting everyone around her know how hard it was to take care of her dying Mom, raise her son and work at the same time.
I wonder if she teaches her students that it's OK to deprive family?
I'd contemplated filing first degree felony theft and perjury charges against them, but it appears that there is nothing I can do.
These transactions may have been perfectly legal, but what happened afterwards was without heart, compassion or honor.
Dishonoring family is just another form of corruption.
Doing it to your own is the worst of the worst.

Chief Seattle's Speech
I got this in my email today:
"If we unbalance Nature, human kind will suffer. Furthermore, we must consider future generations: a clean environment is a human right like any other. It is therefore part of our responsibility towards others to ensure that the world we pass on is as healthy as, if not healthier than we found it."
-His Holiness the Dalai Lama
I've wanted to post Chief Seattle's speech for quite a while now and it's time.
Here, for your reading enjoyment, are the wise and prophetic words from beyond the grave for, as he says, "the dead are not altogether powerless."

Yonder sky that has wept tears of compassion upon my people for centuries untold, and which to us appears changeless and eternal, may change. Today is fair. Tomorrow it may be overcast with clouds. My words are like the stars that never change. Whatever Seattle says, the great chief at Washington can rely upon with as much certainty as he can upon the return of the sun or the seasons. The white chief says that Big Chief at Washington sends us greetings of friendship and goodwill. This is kind of him for we know he has little need of our friendship in return. His people are many. They are like the grass that covers vast prairies. My people are few. They resemble the scattering trees of a storm-swept plain. The great, and I presume — good, White Chief sends us word that he wishes to buy our land but is willing to allow us enough to live comfortably. This indeed appears just, even generous, for the Red Man no longer has rights that he need respect, and the offer may be wise, also, as we are no longer in need of an extensive country.
There was a time when our people covered the land as the waves of a wind-ruffled sea cover its shell-paved floor, but that time long since passed away with the greatness of tribes that are now but a mournful memory. I will not dwell on, nor mourn over, our untimely decay, nor reproach my paleface brothers with hastening it, as we too may have been somewhat to blame.
Youth is impulsive. When our young men grow angry at some real or imaginary wrong, and disfigure their faces with black paint, it denotes that their hearts are black, and that they are often cruel and relentless, and our old men and old women are unable to restrain them. Thus it has ever been. Thus it was when the white man began to push our forefathers ever westward. But let us hope that the hostilities between us may never return. We would have everything to lose and nothing to gain. Revenge by young men is considered gain, even at the cost of their own lives, but old men who stay at home in times of war, and mothers who have sons to lose, know better.
Our good father in Washington—for I presume he is now our father as well as yours, since King George has moved his boundaries further north—our great and good father, I say, sends us word that if we do as he desires he will protect us. His brave warriors will be to us a bristling wall of strength, and his wonderful ships of war will fill our harbors, so that our ancient enemies far to the northward — the Haidas and Tsimshians — will cease to frighten our women, children, and old men. The in reality he will be our father and we his children. But can that ever be? Your God is not our God! Your God loves your people and hates mine! He folds his strong protecting arms lovingly about the paleface and leads him by the hand as a father leads an infant son. But, He has forsaken His Red children, if they really are His. Our God, the Great Spirit, seems also to have forsaken us. Your God makes your people wax stronger every day. Soon they will fill all the land. Our people are ebbing away like a rapidly receding tide that will never return. The white man’s God cannot love our people or He would protect them. They seem to be orphans who can look nowhere for help. How then can we be brothers? How can your God become our God and renew our prosperity and awaken in us dreams of returning greatness? If we have a common Heavenly Father He must be partial, for He came to His paleface children. We never saw Him. He gave you laws but had no word for His red children whose teeming multitudes once filled this vast continent as stars fill the firmament. No; we are two distinct races with separate origins and separate destinies. There is little in common between us.
To us the ashes of our ancestors are sacred and their resting place is hallowed ground. You wander far from the graves of your ancestors and seemingly without regret. Your religion was written upon tablets of stone by the iron finger of your God so that you could not forget. The Red Man could never comprehend or remember it. Our religion is the traditions of our ancestors — the dreams of our old men, given them in solemn hours of the night by the Great Spirit; and the visions of our sachems, and is written in the hearts of our people.
Your dead cease to love you and the land of their nativity as soon as they pass the portals of the tomb and wander away beyond the stars. They are soon forgotten and never return. Our dead never forget this beautiful world that gave them being. They still love its verdant valleys, its murmuring rivers, its magnificent mountains, sequestered vales and verdant lined lakes and bays, and ever yearn in tender fond affection over the lonely hearted living, and often return from the happy hunting ground to visit, guide, console, and comfort them.
Day and night cannot dwell together. The Red Man has ever fled the approach of the White Man, as the morning mist flees before the morning sun. However, your proposition seems fair and I think that my people will accept it and will retire to the reservation you offer them. Then we will dwell apart in peace, for the words of the Great White Chief seem to be the words of nature speaking to my people out of dense darkness.
It matters little where we pass the remnant of our days. They will not be many. The Indian’s night promises to be dark. Not a single star of hope hovers above his horizon. Sad-voiced winds moan in the distance. Grim fate seems to be on the Red Man’s trail, and wherever he will hear the approaching footsteps of his fell destroyer and prepare stolidly to meet his doom, as does the wounded doe that hears the approaching footsteps of the hunter.
A few more moon, a few more winters, and not one of the descendants of the mighty hosts that once moved over this broad land or lived in happy homes, protected by the Great Spirit, will remain to mourn over the graves of a people once more powerful and hopeful than yours. But why should I mourn at the untimely fate of my people? Tribe follows tribe, and nation follows nation, like the waves of the sea. It is the order of nature, and regret is useless. Your time of decay may be distant, but it will surely come, for even the White Man whose God walked and talked with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We will see.
We will ponder your proposition and when we decide we will let you know. But should we accept it, I here and now make this condition that we will not be denied the privilege without molestation of visiting at any time the tombs of our ancestors, friends, and children. Ever part of this soil is sacred in the estimation of my people. Every hillside, every valley, every plain and grove, has been hallowed by some sad or happy event in days long vanished. Even the rocks, which seem to be dumb and dead as the swelter in the sun along the silent shore, thrill with memories of stirring events connected with the lives of my people, and the very dust upon which you now stand responds more lovingly to their footsteps than yours, because it is rich with the blood of our ancestors, and our bare feet are conscious of the sympathetic touch. Our departed braves, fond mothers, glad, happy hearted maidens, and even the little children who lived here and rejoiced here for a brief season, will love these somber solitudes and at eventide they greet shadowy returning spirits. And when the last Red Man shall have perished, and the memory of my tribe shall have become a myth among the White Men, these shores will swarm with the invisible dead of my tribe, and when your children’s children think themselves alone in the field, the store, the shop, upon the highway, or in the silence of the pathless woods, they will not be alone. In all the earth there is no place dedicated to solitude. At night when the streets of your cities and villages are silent and you think them deserted, they will throng with the returning hosts that once filled them and still love this beautiful land. The White Man will never be alone.
Let him be just and deal kindly with my people, for the dead are not altogether powerless.

Alaskan Prophecy
Healing: An Alaskan Prophecy
From an article entitled, "Let Goodness Take Its Place" by Larry Merculieff
Larry gave this speech to a meeting of Aleut elders who had assembled to hear his important message. Larry began his speech in the Aleut language with the saying, "The afternoon tastes good." He continued...
"You are the second group of people that have invited me to talk on something that is very special. I have been asked to give you some messages from the spiritual leaders of the Hopi and [also the] Maori people from New Zealand. When I went up to Canada one and 1/2 years ago, I went there to be with the Stony Elders. They invited me to go there. While I was there, they said the Hopi and Maori sent the messenger to meet me. I do not know why me, but they gave me some messages to bring back here to Alaska. They must have known things that I do not know or can not see yet. And this is one of the things that I think they knew: that I was going to be invited to speak in places like this.
One thing to know before I start. The people who are here today are here for a reason. It is no accident that you are going to be here to hear this message, and it is up to you whether or not you want to use this message of wisdom that has been given by the Hopi and Maori. If you do not use it, I would ask you pass it along to others.
I used to write my speeches, you know, when I left the University. They train you to write everything down. As Commissioner, you have to write everything down for the public record. I stopped doing that when an old man, Howard Luke, and I were exchanging tape recordings with each other. He sent me this tape and said, "Anybody that gets up in front of a crowd of people and has to read from a piece of paper has no business being up there!"
So for the first time in my 43 years, today, I say "OK, the papers are going to be put away." I will speak from the heart. There is a great deal of wisdom in speaking from the heart instead from a paper. It was a relearning for me. I learned it very well, I think. When I have to speak before a group, I never know what I am going to say. The only thing I can do is clear my mind, clear my body, and pray for the messages given from the people that I have been sent here to give the messages for. And I pray to the Creator to help. When I came here, I also prayed for the help of the Spirit of the land; The Spirits of your ancestors; The Spirit of the river; The Spirit of the animals; The Spirit of the trees; and The Spirit of the wind, because each area of the world has their own guardian. Even this group now has it's own guardians. They are here now they are sitting with us, and so, I ask for their help when I talk.
The Hopi and Maori sent a messenger, her name was Beverly, to meet me when I was up in Canada. The messages come from the Hopi, Maori and the Stony Elders, who are part of the great Sioux Nation in Alberta, also from the White Bison Society. I will explain what this is.
What the Hopi [and the] Maori wanted us to know here in Alaska and all the villages, is that we are moving into the what they call the World of the 5th Hoop. The Navajo called it moving into the 5th World. Maybe amongst some of the elders of the Athabascan people there are similar things that are being said about this time. It is a message of hope. They know of the sicknesses that made them suffer. They know of the fights that have been going on between the organization and the villages. They know of the struggle between villages and within regions and between regions. They know about the alcohol abuse and accidental deaths due to alcohol, the suicides, the high blood pressure, failing health, heart problems, all these things that our people in Alaska have been facing. In my years working for my people, I have traveled all over the State. And it is pretty much the same everywhere... the kind of problems we are experiencing.
That is not what this message is about. They know about our business in the villages. This message is a message of hope. They say that moving into this time, of the World of the 5th Hoop, is a time when all the four sacred powers are going to be reconnected. They are the red-white-black-yellow. They wanted me to know that, among the Hopi, they are the keepers of the sacred stone tablets for the sacred red power - that includes all of us. They wanted me to know that they have the sacred stone tablets in Tibet, in the mountains, kept by the Tibetan Monks, in the same way that the Tibetans have their sacred stone tablet with the Hopi.
There are four sacred stone tablets that were given. The sacred black color has theirs in a small village in Africa. They cannot exchange it with the sacred white color because they lost theirs. But the Hopi wisdom keepers say that they are soon to find this stone. Very soon in this time. If you look at the maps where the people of Hopi live and Tibetans live, [it] is exactly on opposite parts of the world of the Mother Earth. The Hopi word for love is the Tibetan word for hate.
And the Tibetan word for love is the Hopi word for hate. The same word, but exactly opposite meanings. They say that this is necessary to help keep the balance of Mother Earth. And that there are keepers of this balance that are around the world like us.
In moving into this time of the World of the 5th Hoop, it is going to be a time of great healing. There is going to be great healing that is going to start, and the Hopi say that it is going to start in the North. I have learned just recently that it is going to start in Alaska.
The Hopi told me that this time of great healing is going to be shown by several signs. One is when a hoop of a hundred eagle feathers is completed. And I have met the person from the White Bison Society in Colorado, who are the keepers of this hoop. I met the person while I was in Anchorage. While we were having dinner, a lady came in from Kodiak and she had an eagle feather in her hand. She said, "I know this had to go to some special place, and I guess it is you." And [she] gave it to this guy who was sitting there. His mouth dropped open. He could hardly speak. He said that this was the eagle feather that was to be the axle-- the center point in this hoop of 100 eagles that was described to him exactly by the wisdom keepers. The eagle feathers numbered 57 at that time.
Since that time, two more [feathers] have come from Alaska. One from an all white eagle. This white eagle had called to this man. (This is true, as I was a witness.) He was a white man. He calls me up and he says, "I do not know why I am calling, but this morning I looked up in my yard and there were 13 ravens in a circle. And in the middle of the circle was an eagle." He said he knew that was pretty weird. He had never seen anything like it. The people in the village had never seen anything like this. This was just about a month and a half ago. He said that he had heard the story of the hoop of the 100 eagle feathers. He said, "That night the tribal chief delivered to me the dead eagle." That morning he saw the eagle alive, surrounded by 13 ravens, [but] that evening, it was delivered to the camp. He did not know why. And so he heard of the story and knew that, if he asked permission properly, one of these eagle feathers was to be delivered to this hoop. And so it was. A person who was on his way down to Colorado delivered the white eagle feather or the feather from a white eagle. So now there were two feathers delivered.
In this time of healing, the message of hope from the Hopi [and] Maori and the Stony Elders, I was invited to Sacred Ceremony by the Stony Elders. The youngest was 77 and the oldest was 106. No one spoke any English during the whole time I was in the Sacred Ceremony, which lasted 3 hours. They spoke English one in the middle, and the person who spoke said "I am speaking English for the benefit of our friends from Alaska." We know that your people in Alaska, in many villages, believe that they have lost their culture, the cultural wisdom and their ways. We are praying to the Creator. We want you to know of the message that has been given to us so that you would take it back to Alaska.
The message that they received for us is that our cultures are not dead. All the wisdom that has been collected in our cultures, since time immemorial, is being kept for us, waiting for us, to awaken in our spirits. We will awaken our spirits again. When that happens things will be revealed of the old wisdoms. Things that have been forgotten for a long time are going to be brought back; Art- Music- Song- Dance- Storytelling- Spiritual- Wisdom- knowledge, and the wisdom of how to work with Mother Earth, will all be restored.
They also want us to know that among the Hopi and Maori there are people who do nothing but pray 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, every year of their lives. That is all they do. In rotation, they pray around the clock for other people. In this prayer is where they have seen some of these things that are about to happen. The healing that is going to take place, the advice that has been given to us, is "Seek not to fight evil-- do not fight it-- let goodness take its place." So when we see bad things happen and when we fight those bad things, what we do hurts everybody. Fighting evil has spiritual energies that go to the ends of universe, affects everybody in the community.
When I come into community, I can feel the energies that are created. We are all affected by it. You know, sometimes you watch little kids when a stranger walks into the room [and], all of a sudden, the child just cries. Sometimes this happens, or, they love the stranger. What they are doing is taking their God given, Creator given, way of talents, skills, gifts, to feel the spirit of the other person. Because everybody give out these energies. So we have to, they say, be very careful. This is part of the wisdom amongst the great Athabascan People and most indigenous people throughout the world. We must take care of how we think-- how we feel.
The signs of this time of healing that is to start are: When the children bring back the spirit to the village; when the young start speaking with the wisdom of the elders; when the leadership energies start shifting to the feminine side; when this hoop of the 100 eagles feathers gets completed. And when the White Bison shows up. These are all the signs of the movement from the 4th to the 5th Hoop.
Now, I know that some of this is in language that you may have not heard in your lifetime. But I know inside, you will recognize these words to be true. Your intuition is going to tell you what I am saying is true. The world for the last 4,000 or so years has been stuck in the male energy side. The male energy is thinking from the brain. It is a management from the top down. It is more aggressive. It does not use intuition or feelings from the heart. It is a different kind of energy. It is not a bad energy. It is just different than the female energy. Female energy is healing, nurturing, loving, caring, touching, sharing. And that the world spiritual leaders know now that these energies have been male and now have shifted to the female side.
The center of the top of the energy entrance to the Earth Mother is here through Alaska. The spiritual leaders say that a host, hosts of angels, are coming through Alaska-- spreading out throughout the world for this healing to take place.
I see what is happening to our young people. I spent most of my life thinking I was a leader, for 25 years working for my people. I realized, when I finally woke up, I was not a leader because I was stuck in the same place with the same kind of sickness they had.
Harold Napoleon, who wrote the book, The Way of the Human Being, talks about the Great Death. Why, people ask, are we suffering like this today? Why are our kids this way? Why are we having this alcohol problem? It is easy to understand when you get back in touch with your heart. Harold Napoleon talks about the time of the Great Death. My people faced it. Eighty percent of our people were wiped out in 50 years. We still have stories of those times. How many men can a musket ball kill? The Russians were betting about the Aleuts, so they lined them up back to back, shot point blank, and the answer is 9. There is one community where the Russians went to take all the women and girls for their sex slaves. The women and girls said, "No, this will be a violation of our spirit!" And they all got on top of a cliff and jumped, in mass, and died. There is a story in a village in Akutan, where it used to take a year to build meat boats from hide. It was one of the most sophisticated kayaks in the world. It took a year to build because it had to be dependable. They had to go out on the high seas for weeks on end. They knew this, and the Russians knew this. The fur traders, who were greedy, went into the village at night and destroyed all the boats. The village starved to death. There was one old woman who survived out of 300 people.
So we have these stories. The first people who were killed among my people were the Shaman and their apprentices. Because of their religion, or way of life of spirituality, the Russians did not understand so they destroyed it. They thought it was a threat. Can you imagine our people who are survivors-- we are survivors here today, having gone through that time-- experiencing for 50 years, 8 out of 10 people dying in a horrible way? Your loved ones? Your grandchildren? Your children? Your mother? Your wives? Your husbands? [All] dying by horrible ways for 50 years? Year after year, seeing horrible death? And being subjected to all this? The American doctors have a name for this now, they call it Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
The Vietnam Vets have also experienced this syndrome. The veterans, when they came back from Vietnam, were depressed. They took drugs. They took alcohol. They withdrew from their relationships. They could not be close to people because it hurt too much. They did anything to escape their feeling and what they were thinking. When they did that, they separated from their spiritual side. When this happened, the depression started. So they experienced this in Vietnam after 2 or 3 years. Sometimes people had 4 trips over there. Our people experienced it for generations. Not only did we not have the support that the Vietnam Vets had, [but] they still had their culture intact when they came back.
Our cultures were eliminated, or attempted to be destroyed. So that the survivors, who had survived, were without hope. Having gone through such misery and pain, the only thing they could do to defend themselves, the only way they knew how to defend themselves, was not to feel.
I know and I understand it. Harold Napoleon understood it. Many of you understand it. Because as a child, like many of our people, [I] grew up in a family the abused alcohol. And the first thing that I did as a child to defend myself was to shut off my feelings. They were shut off for over 20 years. And when that happened, it is a state of constant depression and addiction. Addictions can be cigarettes - alcohol - TV - noise; big loud music, and even thoughts could be an addiction.
Anything to take us away from feeling right now the way we feel. We try to run away from it. That is what happening when you see a kid walk down the street with big earphones blasting and they are not hearing anything else because they do not want to be here. No.
The wisdom keepers say that the only place to find the power of the Creator is to be present in this moment. If we have fears, we are projecting them into the future. Into a future time that does not even exist. If we have guilt, we are living in the past, for the past things we did. We are not living now. All the spiritual keepers, of all groups in the world, be they Buddhists, be they Islamic, be it part Red Pack, be it medicine pack-- you name it-- say [that] the only way to find the power that has been given to us from the Creator is to be here, now. Not to escape.
So you see, this addiction that has happened from the Great Death, the survivors are separated from their feelings. Can you imagine the kind of children they raised? It was hard for them to love and be close to another because they were afraid. "If I became too close and love somebody, they would be destroyed, and I would suffer the pain all over again. So, they stayed away from that feeling. Those kids grew up and had their own kids, and from generations to generation to generation, until today, we have the legacy the inheritance of this spiritual sickness that was given to us a long time ago. And so the answers from the wisdom keepers is to work at being present and that will first revive the key.
The spiritual keepers also say that the first step towards healing yourself, before you can heal others or help heal others, is to love that which we may hate or who may hate me. We may hate ourselves. We may hate an organization. We may hate the people from outside who have interfered. We may hate somebody. The first step towards this healing is to stop the hate and turn it into love. And it will transform everything. This spiritual sickness that we have is going to move now. It is going to change.
There are some predictions in the sacred stone tablets among the wisdom keepers about what is going to happen here in this World of the 5th Hoop. Not only are we going to have this healing but the Earth Mother is going to shake in a way that it has never shook before. It is going to move in a way it has never done before. There is going to be a lot of fear because of this, and the wisdom keepers want me to convey that, when this happens, we should not be afraid. Because, what is happening is that the Earth Mother is trying to help us remove the stuff that we have stuck in our bodies, inherited from the spiritual sickness of generations and generations out. And one of the ways that we do that is to scare the life out of us. This is why there is going to be time for healers.
Healers are being called from all over. Women are now taking their place as the original healers around the world and some of the strongest original healers are starting here in Alaska. Not only [will there be] the shift to the feminine side of leadership, but the women are going to start taking their place as healers. I think this is an exciting time. The Dalai Lama went down to Yakutan during the last change of the moon, with all the spiritual leaders, to pray for this time of the shift, this time of healing. And he has 'chosen'-- and this is the words that they use, which are hard to understand-- he has chosen to take the spiritual energies that they have been keeping in Tibet and move them from Tibet and bring them here to Alaska. Which they did a few weeks ago. The reason they did this is because the Chinese are wiping out the Tibetan Monks and destroying all the temples. So the Dalai Lama moved its spiritual energy here to Alaska, because this is the place where the healing is going to start. And this is the place where all the Angels are coming in by hosts. This is the place where the hoop of a hundred eagle feathers will be finished. And, interestingly enough, some of the healing ways are being revived from all the cultures. People are being woken up.
How do we start this healing? When you are quiet within yourself and you sit next to the river-- ask. Do not be afraid to ask. Ask the Creator. Ask whoever you feel is your higher power, "Please help me find the way because I do not know how to heal." "Make me your history." And when you ask that, with humility in your heart, you will get it. You will find it. And it will be given to you, you will see this healing starting to spread like wild fire. It is just exciting. Exciting to see. And the key to it is staying here, now.
Now, last thing I am going to say: I ran the village corporation in St. Paul for 10 years. I was city manager for 4 years. We started from no economy out there. In 1983 the government pulled out. That was our only economy. They pulled out and we lost 80% of our jobs. That year we had 100 suicide attempts out of 600 people. We had 4 people who killed themselves. We had 3 who were murdered-- things that had not happened in our village for 150 years! The last person ever murdered in our village was over 150 years ago. And it all happened in this one year. Big shaking up. And we thought, the leadership thought-- including me-- that, if we worked to bring the economy back so that everybody got a good paying job, our kids would return to our village. And that it would solve our problems. We had [a] growing alcohol problem, 60% of population [were[ alcoholic and 1/3 of our kids have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. We had suicide attempts all the time. I have been to 44 funerals here in 4 years-- 44 funerals! Goodness sakes.
So what we learned from this and what I want to share with you is what happened when we got our economy [back]. We have the strongest rural economy in the State of Alaska right now. Our per capita income is $34,000.00-- $34,000.00 per person! That is what was accomplished in 10 years. But did it solve our problems? No. The spiritual sickness is still going on. The money only feeds the addiction. We have a community that is already addicted in some way because of the spiritual sickness. We have inherited this sickness from the time of the Great Death.
Bringing money in, in large numbers, will fuel the addictions just like gasoline to fire. It will make it worse. Bigger. Because it is what we do with the money. Look at St. Paul. We are buying cars.
Everybody has got a car now. We bought, maybe, 300 cars in last 3 years. Everybody has got 1 or 2 TV sets-- big ones. Everybody has got 4-wheelers. Everybody has got boats. Everybody has got nice clothes. Everybody has got nice houses. Things. Everybody has got things. But yet they are saying, "We are not happy. What is wrong?" What is wrong is [that] we were looking outside for feeding for a hunger inside-- a hunger that we did not understand. And that hunger is the hunger of the spirit.
When we have addictions, it is a hunger to fill the spirit. It is like a big stomach inside you that wants to feed all of the time. And no matter how much we feed it with these addictions, [it] is never enough. And it just goes down and down and we get so depressed that we feel we can not get out of it. At that point, you die either physically or your die spiritually. Hopefully, many people will not have to go through that.
So, that is the message that I have brought to you. This is a message of hope and a message of good wisdom. Remember, our cultures are not lost. The wisdom of it is already here with us. We just do not know it yet, because we are spiritually sleeping.
